• Identify, assess, and execute potential strategic partnerships, acquisitions, and investments • Manage real estate, permitting, and interconnection aspects of multiple utility-scale photovoltaic solar and energy storage projects in targeted US markets • Identify acquisition and greenfield development opportunities throughout North America • Perform strategic and financial analyses, company evaluations, and financial feasibility studies • Monitor market, industry, economic, consumer, and competitive conditions and trends • Engage with industry groups to identify new market solutions • Prepare acquisition, divestiture, and strategic transaction summaries and recommendations • Manage real estate matters from initial site control through final title policy, including title commitments, curative work, closings, surveys, leases, land purchases, sale-leasebacks, easements, subdivisions, lot line adjustments, and crossing agreements • Obtain local, state, and federal permits, land-use approvals, environmental clearances, historic and cultural resource clearances, aviation filings, species authorizations, and wetland permits • Lead project participation in local and state land-use hearings • Manage interconnection applications through commercial operation, including CAISO, PJM, ERCOT, SPP, and MISO processes • Make required security postings and payments • Review consultant and internal-team comments on feasibility, system impact, and facilities studies • Oversee agreements required to construct facilities, including interconnection, engineering and procurement, and construction agreements • Manage information flow between HQC US, project investors, and third-party financing representatives • Support Structured Finance and Legal during project sales and debt and equity closings • Prepare projects for financing or divestment by addressing finance-risk items • Confirm land-control documents, easements, and rights-of-way meet financing thresholds • Manage project-closing real estate matters • Manage a team of up to two developers • Perform other job-related duties as requested by management
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in a business, urban planning, engineering, finance or other related fields • 8+ years of renewable energy project development, working on behalf of the owner/developer • Proven track record as a lead developer with a “deal sheet of projects” 50MW+ in size • Solid understanding of energy markets and renewable energy development in North America • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders • Superior preparation, presentation, time management and interpersonal skills • Willing to travel up to 50% of the time within North America and internationally • Represent the company professionally in internal and external communications • Valid driving license and passport
