HCV Underwriting Managers is an underwriting manager and insurance product provider specializing in cover for heavy commercial vehicles (trucks, trailers, plant/“yellow goods”) and goods in transit. The company issues and administers tailored insurance products—Truck + Care, Load + Care, Owner Driver + Care—and offers value-added services like roadside assistance, windscreen cover and personal cover, working through brokers and directly with owner-drivers and fleets. HCV is an authorised financial services provider and its products are underwritten by a licensed non-life insurer.

📋 Description

• Analyze business requirements and determine appropriate tools, approaches, standards, and best practices • Analyze data and develop insights to drive business strategy and decision-making • Collaborate with team members to define standards, frameworks, and best practices for technology applications and products • Establish repeatable and scalable processes for collecting, designing, and prioritizing work • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to identify trends, needs, and opportunities • Stay current with leading technology products and techniques • Maintain working knowledge of key business processes and advise the business on technology solutions • Develop and design testing protocols • Develop and conduct testing of software deployments and updates • Create and maintain business process documentation and requirements • Manage and execute projects, including project plans, timelines, and deliverables • Create and deliver presentations to stakeholders on project progress and findings

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field; OR 5+ years of progressive experience in financial services, insurance, or data analytics industry • 2+ years of Insurance Company, MGA or TPA experience preferred • 5+ years of Business Analyst experience required • Proven success in business requirements gathering, design and development proper documentation for prioritization within the overall roadmap and technology direction • Demonstrated strategic thought leadership around business intelligence capabilities • Demonstrated ability in business facilitation and effective use of project management techniques/tools • Client facing experience is required • Ability to travel up to 20% of the year • Knowledge of business key performance indicators (KPIs), preferably for the risk, insurance, and claims industry • Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment • Master’s degree or equivalent experience preferred • Project management experience and managing business projects for the full life cycle, from inception to implementation • Negotiation and conflict resolution skills • Understanding of commercial insurance and claims processes/services • Working knowledge of insurance technology, including policy and program administration systems • Understanding of Agile project management and development process • ISO knowledge and experience highly preferred • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Ability to work dynamically between IT, Operations, and Underwriting Programs • Ability to acquire core business acumen within a given industry or customer segment • Ability to synthesize requests, uncover trends, make recommendations about implications to business performance, communicate findings and recommendations to varied audiences and overall technology roadmap
