📋 Description

• Review and validate diagnostic and procedural codes applied by front-end coding and clinical teams • Abstract information from the electronic health record to compile patient databases for research and evaluation • Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, third-party reimbursement policies, and regulatory standards • Identify patterns and trends in coding data and escalate issues to support root-cause analysis • Assist team members and collaborate with colleagues to optimize coding accuracy and efficiency

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent • Minimum of two (2) years coding experience • Additional specialty coding certification or five (5) years coding experience • Prior experience in a healthcare revenue cycle position • Certification as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), CPC, or CCS • Proficiency in ICD-10 CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, and pharmacology • Preferred: One to two (1-2) years college or additional course work in Accounting, Business, Healthcare Administration, or Medical Record Sciences • Preferred: Specialty coding experience
