📋 Description

• Gather customer technical needs and assess current IT infrastructure, goals, and strategies • Architect overall technical solutions and define technical alternatives and potential shortcomings • Collaborate with account teams and company organizations to develop value propositions and negotiation points • Deliver presentations connecting solution features and functions with tangible business benefits • Protect and expand HPE’s customer installed base through new technologies, upgrades, and refreshes • Develop strategies to counter competitive threats • Maintain accurate sales pipeline information reflecting technical solutions and technical-win status • Support deal nurturing and movement toward close • Facilitate transition from sales to implementation • Orient implementation teams to the technical solution design and identify training needs • Meet regularly with Bay Area customers and customers throughout the western US

🎯 Requirements

• Presales Solution Architect or Sales Engineer experience • Located locally for customers in the San Jose, CA area • 5+ years of experience in presales • Successful experience designing and selling storage solutions for structured and unstructured data, data protection, data availability, and cyber resilience • Strong relationships with HPE channel partners in the region • Strong technical and business communication skills, including writing, public speaking, classroom instruction, active listening, and information discovery • Experience working with large and complex enterprise customers • Experience running infrastructure and software Proof of Concepts • Experience with public cloud, MSP, or telco customers preferred • Experience designing and selling HPE data solutions preferred • Experience designing and selling HPE private cloud solutions preferred • Experience designing and selling or competing against major competitors preferred • Experience architecting virtual or hypervisor environments preferred • Experience architecting hybrid cloud environments preferred • Excellent technical skills in Data Services • Knowledge of company offerings, strategic initiatives, current trends, competitor products, and strategies • Mastery of English and local languages • Consultative selling techniques, including active listening, outcome-based selling, whiteboarding, and storytelling • Knowledge of business, technical tools, and standard CRM systems and tools • Working knowledge of social media, blogging, and related information-sharing technologies • Knowledge of ecosystem and channel partner offerings • Project management skills or experience, with analytical and problem-solving skills • Business and financial acumen • Experience architecting solutions and building related hardware and software configurations • Experience planning and carrying out competitive proof of concepts • U.S. citizenship may be required for work with Federal customers
