📋 Description

• Provide technical expertise in chemical engineering for Resin and Formaldehyde production processes • Recommend solutions to complex problems within Resin processes • Provide senior technical advice on developing new chemical processes within project teams • Review proposed chemical processes and recipe additions for process, safety, and environmental compliance • Perform relief system modelling • Troubleshoot existing chemical processes that are not meeting design entitlement • Commission and start up new chemical operations • Lead productivity projects to create capacity and efficiencies in plant processes • Collaborate with Innovation, Commercial, Operations, and Supply Chain teams • Consult on chemical process design with a focus on safety and efficiency • Advise project teams on design or scope changes and their process impacts and benefits • Work with contracted engineering groups on new process design • Check calculations for codes, specifications, design criteria, and RAGAGEP adherence • Develop business cases for new product and process development and present them to Leadership • Develop best practices and design standards to improve process reliability and efficiency • Participate in PHA and HAZOP reviews from early project stages through commissioning • Provide technical guidance on deviations from expected production • Organize and lead commissioning efforts, including PSSR action-item closure and MOC processes • Establish communication with operations and provide education and training • Represent the team to Leadership on difficult technical issues with recommendations

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant chemical processes experience • BS Chemical or Process Engineering • Experience working on a plant floor in a chemical operating company • Batch manufacturing experience • Extensive solid material handling and equipment design experience • Project management experience, especially FEL efforts • Familiarity with process safety, environmental, and Industrial Hygiene rules and regulations associated with chemical production • Ability to work within a matrix organization and remotely • Ability to work with third-party engineering firms during Front End Engineering efforts • Understanding of Fault Trees, FMEA, QRA, and LOPA techniques • Chemical Reaction Relief system modelling knowledge • Advanced Excel and intermediate PowerPoint skills • Advanced computer skills • Ability to collect and interpret data • Familiarity with Stage Gate project processes and front-end development • Understanding of Gantt Charts and Microsoft Project • Familiarity with enterprise system software such as SAP • At least 18 years of age • Authorization for the Company to conduct drug testing, background investigation, and periodic background checks as required • Mini-Tab experience desired but not required
