• Assume full accountability for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated financial reporting across all managed and owned properties • Review and approve consolidated monthly financial packages, including financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and variance analyses • Monitor portfolio-wide financial performance trends and communicate systemic issues, risks, and opportunities to the VP of Accounting • Serve as the corporate authority on GAAP, USALI standards, and applicable accounting regulations • Lead, coach, and develop all Regional Controllers • Establish performance expectations, conduct one-on-ones, and deliver formal performance reviews • Drive cross-regional best-practice sharing and consistent application of process improvements • Partner with the VP of Accounting and Human Resources on hiring, onboarding, succession planning, and retention • Improve the enterprise-wide internal controls framework and audit Regional Controller and property-level accounting operations • Identify control deficiencies and coordinate external audit engagements • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax obligations and oversee property-level tax filings • Partner with Operations leadership on annual budgets, forecasting, financial analysis, and expense control • Review budgets for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and proper classification • Serve as a senior accounting contact for ownership groups, asset managers, and General Managers • Ensure management agreement and franchise agreement reporting obligations are met • Oversee corporate accounting platforms, including M3, ProfitSword, NetSuite, Birchstreet, and Adra • Maintain the Accounting SOP manual and delegation of authority policy • Support process improvement and automation initiatives • Ensure GL configurations, system mappings, financial statement templates, and reporting outputs meet corporate and USALI standards • Develop training materials and coordinate systems training • Manage hotel transitions, property onboarding, and accounting integration activities
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required • Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience • At least 3–5 years in a multi-property hospitality accounting leadership role • Prior experience as a Regional Controller or equivalent multi-property accounting leadership role required • Deep expertise in GAAP, USALI, and hospitality financial reporting and compliance standards • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and hold accountable geographically dispersed accounting leaders • Proven experience owning and improving an enterprise-wide internal controls environment • Strong consolidated financial reporting, budget oversight, and variance analysis skills across a large multi-property portfolio • Proficiency in hotel accounting platforms including M3, ProfitSword, NetSuite, Birchstreet, Adra, or equivalent • Strong executive communication skills for presenting financial information to senior leadership, ownership groups, and external auditors • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint • Willingness to travel to regional offices and properties as needed • Up to 35% travel required • Master’s degree or CPA designation strongly preferred • Third-party hotel management company experience strongly preferred
