📋 Description

• Accurately post and apply incoming payments, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and credit card payments, to client invoices in Aderant • Monitor lockbox, EFT, and electronic payment portals for incoming receipts • Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpayments, and payment discrepancies • Reconcile daily cash receipts against bank deposits and general ledger entries • Communicate with insurance carrier representatives regarding payment application questions, remittance details, and invoice discrepancies • Process refunds, write-offs, and adjustments according to firm policy and client billing guidelines • Maintain documentation of remittance advices, payment backup, and correspondence for audit purposes • Generate and distribute cash application, aging, and unapplied cash reports • Assist with month-end close processes related to cash receipts and accounts receivable • Support internal and external audits by providing payment documentation • Identify process improvement opportunities to increase cash application efficiency and accuracy

🎯 Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or billing, ideally within a law firm, professional services, or insurance environment • Experience with Aderant • Proficiency with accounting / billing software and Microsoft Excel • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in high-volume transaction processing • Excellent organizational and time-management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, adjustors and internal teams • Prior experience in insurance defense law firm is preferred • Knowledge of general accounting principles and accounts receivable reconciliation • Ability to manage high transaction volume under deadlines • Discretion in handling confidential financial and client information • Adaptable to multiple client billing requirements
