📋 Description

• Oversee quality assurance of psychiatric care in outpatient and inpatient settings • Increase access to quality mental health care for children • Build mental health provider capacity and establish referral networks with hospitals, Residential Treatment Centers, and secure facilities • Conduct surveillance of mental health conditions among children in ORR’s care • Conduct site visits and needs assessments of mental health services • Train stakeholders on mental health best practices and child safety • Participate in cross-ORR workgroups to ensure legal and service compliance • Determine appropriate mental health responses in sexual abuse or harassment cases • Review and assess response protocols for abuse and harassment incidents • Consult on cases involving risk of inappropriate sexual conduct or unmet mental health needs • Provide oversight and guidance on psychotropic medication prescribing and administration • Ensure psychiatric-care policies and practices meet health, safety, and legal settlement requirements

🎯 Requirements

• MD or DO with active clinical psychiatry license • 10 years’ experience • Specialized training in child and adolescent psychiatry • Expertise in trauma and high-risk youth populations • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance • Knowledge of migrant/refugee issues, particularly related to children • Experience working for a refugee program • Prior work experience in a consulting environment • Ability to promote and contribute to an equitable and inclusive organizational culture and environment • Ability to manage competing priorities, perspectives, and stakeholder needs • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills • Outstanding professionalism, judgment, discretion, tact, and diplomacy • Full-time availability with on-call/after-hours availability
