📋 Description

• Review assigned courses within a defined scope and map charter requirements to specific course locations • Document cascading effects, assumptions, and ambiguities before development • Provide a list of items requiring SME input before the first working session • Collaborate with SMEs to revise in-scope instruction and assessments aligned with learning outcomes and the charter • Document out-of-scope issues rather than addressing them • Suggest relevant open educational resources and instructional methods • Maintain comprehensive design-decision documentation for partner review and approval • Incorporate partner and stakeholder feedback through agreed revision cycles • Facilitate SME working sessions and obtain approvals for deliverables • Coordinate with Editorial, Quality Review, and other internal teams at defined handoff points • Complete self-QA before each handoff • Deliver complete and accurate work by fixed milestones • Submit status updates with milestone deliverables and promptly flag risks or delays • Apply the design standards and charter version in effect for each project

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree in Education, Instructional Technology, or a related field • Current, in-depth knowledge of instructional design and learning theories • Expertise in online learning, instructional design and technology, adult learning theory, and andragogy/pedagogy • 3-5 years of experience collaborating with SMEs on online course development in higher education or corporate environments • Ability to build strong working relationships with SMEs while meeting deadlines • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to lead and influence collaboratively, including holding a scope boundary professionally • Ability to interpret scope documents and identify practical impacts, exclusions, and ambiguities • Strong independent judgment and ability to make documented, defensible decisions • Experience with ADA compliance and course-design quality standards such as Quality Matters and OLC • Competency navigating LMS systems such as Brightspace, D2L, Canvas, and Moodle • Ability to recognize and critically evaluate AI-generated material in SME submissions • Ability to apply revised standards or specifications accurately without a ramp-up period • Strong organizational skills, excellent follow-through, and exceptional attention to detail • Must be located in the Eastern, Central, Mountain, or Pacific time zones • Must not reside in or otherwise be based in California, New York, Illinois, or Massachusetts • Comfortable working without AI assistance on partner content
