Ignite Reading is an early literacy intervention provider that partners with K–2 school districts to deliver daily, 1:1, Science of Reading–aligned tutoring using certified literacy instructors. The program combines a structured curriculum, centralized scheduling, progress monitoring, and district-level reporting to close reading gaps, scale quickly across schools, and reduce teacher workload. Ignite focuses on measurable student outcomes and works primarily with districts and schools to implement and manage tutoring programs.

📋 Description

• Deliver daily one-on-one virtual tutoring sessions lasting 15 minutes • Tutor the same students five days a week throughout the academic year • Teach foundational reading skills including phonics, phonemic awareness, and sight words • Complete the 7-week Tutor Training Program • Participate in two-hour daily training classes Monday through Friday • Complete asynchronous online coursework and meet all deadlines • Complete at least one hour of daily tutoring practicum during the final three weeks of training • Provide a minimum of three hours of daily availability for scheduling • Build trusting and meaningful relationships with students and peers • Implement feedback and teaching best practices grounded in research • Deliver Ignite Reading’s curriculum with fidelity • Record student data • Meet standards for attendance, punctuality, instruction, student growth, and learning

🎯 Requirements

• Must complete a 7-week Tutor Training Program • Minimum 3+ hours of consistent daily availability • Availability between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. ET, five days a week • Ability to navigate virtual platforms and personal computer hardware and software, including multiple screens and tabs • Ability to receive and implement feedback • Ability to complete ongoing coursework and meet deadlines • Strong attendance and punctuality • Ability to deliver curriculum with fidelity and record student data • Must meet performance standards for attendance, punctuality, instruction, and student growth and learning • Must be eligible to work in the United States • Must have a U.S.-based mailing address and U.S. bank account for direct deposit • Must reside in the United States at least 51% of the time • Must successfully pass a background check • Must complete fingerprinting when required by Ignite Reading partners • Must pass sexual misconduct and former employment verification checks • Applicants residing in California, Illinois, Iowa, Montana, New Hampshire, North Dakota, South Dakota, Seattle, or the District of Columbia are ineligible • Strongly encouraged: bilingual ability, including Spanish or other languages
