📋 Description

• Provide actuarial expertise supporting the financial soundness of Select Health and Intermountain • Oversee calculation and management across financial, ACA, Medicare, Medicaid, provider contracting, and pharmacy actuarial functions • Report to the Chief Actuary and collaborate with the CFO, Controller, AVPs, and regional leaders • Oversee financial statements, monthly IBNR reserves, liabilities, forecasting models, management reporting, dynamic planning, audits, and annual statement actuarial work • Coordinate corporate trends and present them to committees • Develop and submit ACA filings, support ACA strategy, manage risk adjustment accruals, and oversee MLR management • Provide provider contracting and value-based arrangement strategy and analytical expertise • Direct Medicare bid filing development and CMS submissions, certify bids in HPMS, and conduct Medicare financial analysis • Oversee Medicaid actuarial analysis, negotiations, reporting, and financial analysis • Analyze fully insured large group, self-funded, stop-loss, and commercial group products; develop underwriting factors and support commercial group strategy • Develop and maintain pharmacy pricing models, conduct forecasts, analyze cost and utilization, ensure regulatory compliance, and optimize pharmacy benefits

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in math, statistics, computer science, economics or finance from an accredited institution • FSA and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries or Society of Actuaries with 12 years of relevant actuarial experience; or ASA and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries with 14 years of relevant actuarial experience • 4 years of actuarial managerial experience • Understanding of underlying theory and effects of assumptions used in product development and maintenance • Knowledge of health insurance products • Leadership • Management presentations • Rate filings • Medicare bids • Medicaid expertise • Reserving • Provider contracting expertise • Communication of results • ACA expertise • IBNR development • Ability to verbally communicate, hear, and understand spoken information • Ability to operate computers, telephones, and office equipment • Ability to see and read computer monitors and documents • Ability to remain sitting or standing for long periods
