📋 Description

• Review pre-payment claims to monitor billing practices and ensure accurate coding and reimbursement based on contracts, payment methodologies, and state and federal regulations • Ensure review decisions comply with ERISA standards • Log provider appeals and send correspondence to providers • Serve as a consultant to SelectHealth and Intermountain Healthcare departments, including physicians and facilities • Engage one-on-one with physicians and offices for communication and training • Support higher-level analysts with responsibilities and research • Manage workload and responsibilities effectively • Maintain subject-matter expertise and educate providers and staff • Ensure compliance with coding regulations across provider specialties and coding methodologies, including inpatient, outpatient, ASC, drugs and biologicals, lab and genetics, home health, and DME claims • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations that vary by state and line of business

🎯 Requirements

• Associate degree from an accredited institution, or two years of work experience in coding, healthcare, or a health plan environment • Demonstrated intermediate-level experience with Microsoft Office applications • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills • Coding expertise across professional, facility, drug, DME, and lab code sets • Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, CHIP, FEHB, and self-funded plans • Knowledge of coding regulations, reimbursement, compliance initiatives, regulatory legislation, and billing practices • Preferred: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution • Preferred: National professional coding certification such as CPC or CCS; must be obtained within one year of hire • Preferred: Two years of coding or auditing experience in a professional, facility, or health plan environment • Preferred: Experience with government programs such as Medicare, Medicaid, or ACA • Medical billing and coding • Claims processing • Customer service • Critical thinking • Documentation • Time management • Verbal and written communication • Attention to detail • ICD coding • Electronic medical records (EMR) • Must reside or plan to reside outside California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington
