📋 Description

• Strategically manage payer and specialty network relationships supporting transplant programs • Partner with business development and operational leaders to expand transplant outreach agreements, strengthen referral networks, and drive program growth • Oversee assigned contracts, including negotiation support, contract and relationship management, reimbursement issue resolution, and rate optimization • Serve as the primary contracting lead for transplant-related payer agreements across Intermountain Health • Research and negotiate contract rates and methodologies and resolve disputes • Maintain expertise in contract and amendment language, rates, methodologies, and contracted providers and facilities • Ensure contracting documentation, payment rates, methodologies, storage, and escalated issues follow standard practices • Represent Payer Contracting and Intermountain Health in key relationships and lead Joint Operating Committees • Establish and maintain long-term relationships with aligned payers • Coordinate with Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership on risk-based contracting and proactive care strategies • Coordinate with Legal and Compliance on contract accuracy, regulatory compliance, and language consistency • Provide leadership and mentorship to Payer Contracting Managers

🎯 Requirements

• Experience leading and supporting complex negotiations • Experience in a professional role requiring effective verbal and written communication to present advanced topics clearly, concisely, polished, and professionally • Ability to synthesize extensive amounts of data into clear and concise summaries without sacrificing material details • Experience leading teams, including cross-functional teams • Demonstrated experience mentoring teams and caregivers • Preferred: experience negotiating complex payer agreements, transplant center of excellence arrangements, specialty network contracts, and/or advanced reimbursement models • Strong understanding of case rates, bundled payments, carve-out agreements, and high-acuity service reimbursement • Ability to travel frequently to negotiate contracts with payers • Ability to see and read information, documents, and monitors and assess customer needs • Ability to verbally communicate and hear and understand spoken information quickly and accurately • Manual dexterity for frequent computer use and manipulating complex and delicate equipment • May be expected to drive a vehicle
