📋 Description

• Engage early in the pre-sales cycle on strategic and enterprise pursuits • Run technical discovery and qualification alongside Commercial • Lead product-focused pitches as the senior technical voice • Work with Solutions Design across proposals and own the technical narrative in RFPs and executive conversations • Own and maintain standard, brand-specific, and strategic custom demo environments • Partner with Solutions Design on large or custom proposals and with Client Services on account roadmaps • Use AI tooling to accelerate discovery-to-prototype delivery • Translate client goals into scoped Ascend solutions and implementation roadmaps • Scope integrations, data flows, and architecture during client conversations • Decide what should be bespoke versus built into the platform • Identify and size new features and integrations from client conversations • Prototype during discovery and develop scalable, maintainable deployments • Translate ambiguous requirements into technical specifications and working software • Create reusable assets and AI-assisted workflows for repeatable solutioning • Liaise between Commercial, clients, Product, and Engineering • Own technical solutions end to end • Feed client needs into the product roadmap • Define scope and hiring bar for Forward Deployed Engineers, with potential to lead the team

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years in solutions architecture, sales engineering, solutions consulting, or forward-deployed engineering, ideally in SaaS or pharma technology • Operates with full autonomy as the subject matter expert in the room on the most complex and strategic pursuits • Proven track record leading technical discovery and running custom demos inside enterprise pre-sales cycles, credible with senior client stakeholders • Hands-on technical depth: able to scope feasibility, prototype, and build, not only specify • Appetite to grow into leading and mentoring individual contributors while staying hands-on yourself • Strong fluency with APIs, integrations, data flows, and platform configuration • Product mindset, with clear judgment on when a client need is one-off custom work and when it should become durable platform capability • AI-forward in how you work: fluent with AI tooling for prototyping, research, and delivery, and clear-eyed about where AI belongs in a client solution and where it does not • Excellent communication across technical and non-technical audiences, from engineers to client executives, and comfortable operating with ambiguity at high-growth pace • Experience in pharma commercial, market access, or HCP engagement is a strong plus • Experience helping stand up a solutions or sales engineering function is a strong plus
