📋 Description

• Lead LLM-powered products end to end, from prototyping and evaluation through deployment, monitoring, and iteration • Own matching, search, and ranking systems, including model design, offline validation, shadow scoring, and A/B experiments • Work across embeddings and ElasticSearch • Ship production code across Python ML services, Rails, and React • Diagnose hallucinations, retrieval misses, and ranking regressions • Turn ambiguous questions into production-minded data analysis that informs product development • Conduct rigorous code reviews with ML, AI, and product engineers • Independently deliver AI initiatives from scoping through experiment-validated launch • Operate production ML services and contribute to future AI roadmap planning

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience • 2+ recent years taking ML- and LLM-powered features from concept through deployment and long-term production maintenance • Strong Python software engineering skills • Ability to independently run, validate, and interpret ranking-model retraining, embedding pipelines, or evaluation harnesses • Experience evaluating non-deterministic systems using golden datasets, LLM-as-judge, and regression tests that gate launches • Core machine learning foundations: classification, ranking, and model evaluation • Production LLM experience, including prompt engineering, tool calling, structured outputs, agent workflows, and voice workflows • SQL-driven product analysis • Notebook fluency to configure an environment and train or run a model independently • Experience with marketplaces or recommendation systems, voice agents in production, embedding retrieval at scale, Claude Code, or full-stack development are differentiators • Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, Celery, Rails, React, ElasticSearch, embeddings, Snowflake, dbt, Hex, Anthropic Claude, and ElevenLabs is relevant to the role • Must be located in an eligible U.S. state or the District of Columbia
