📋 Description

• Receive, evaluate, and coordinate with local transplant centers regarding organ placement for transplant and research • Coordinate transportation and communicate with transplant center staff for local organ donors • Communicate frequently with transplant surgeons and transplant coordinators • Work with Infinite Legacy staff during local organ cases • Collaborate with clinical personnel during donor management to facilitate organ allocation • Arrange transportation of specimens and recovery teams • Serve as the point of communication throughout the donation process for transplant centers • Provide medical information regarding local and import donor organ function to transplant centers • Arrange ground and air transportation for recovering surgical teams, perfusionists, and other team members • Adhere to OPTN/UNOS policies for organ allocation • Facilitate import organ offers with on-call surgeons and coordinators • Coordinate potential and accepted import organ donor cases • Communicate donor information, organ function, and visualization to on-call surgeons, transplant coordinators, and tissue typing labs • Report and provide required documentation and follow-up information • Coordinate research allocation with research partners and recovery teams

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing, EMS, healthcare studies, or biology, or equivalent work experience may be substituted for education • 4+ years of relevant experience in medical field or health sciences (EMT, Paramedic, LPN, EMS dispatcher) and/or equivalent work experience • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and human anatomy • Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced healthcare environment • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines • Effective problem solving, conflict management and creative thinking skills • Must be able to work overnight, weekends and holidays • Must be flexible • Ability to work 3 (12 hour) shifts per week and a minimum of 2 on-call shifts per month
