📋 Description

• Lead 10–12 engineers across Secrets Management and Certificate Management teams • Develop a high-performing engineering team and drive execution across both products • Ensure infrastructure remains secure and reliable • Own engineering delivery by establishing commitments, managing competing priorities, and ensuring high-quality delivery • Own hiring, onboarding, performance management, and career development • Build a high-performing team and develop strong Tech Leads • Balance customer needs and product development with investments in security, reliability, and developer velocity • Establish reliability targets and improve observability, incident response, and operational quality • Review code and technical designs • Guide architectural decisions and resolve difficult engineering challenges • Work directly with customers to understand workflows and technical requirements and translate insights into engineering priorities • Establish lightweight processes for fast, predictable, and accountable execution • Work closely with the CTO, Tech Leads, and engineering team

🎯 Requirements

• 6+ years of software engineering experience • 3+ years managing engineers • Experience in developer tooling, infrastructure security, or other high-stakes developer software (ideal) • Track record of building and developing high-performing teams, including hiring, coaching, performance management, and developing technical leaders • Experience leading multiple engineering workstreams and driving execution through others • Strong hands-on engineering background • Comfortable reviewing production code and technical designs • Strong engineering fundamentals and sound judgment around system architecture, reliability, and technical tradeoffs • Excellent communication skills, including ability to work directly with customers • Bias toward action and ability to make decisions with incomplete information while maintaining high standards • Based in the US or Canada; NYC preferred • Experience working in security infrastructure or developer tools (nice to have) • Experience leading teams developing distributed systems (nice to have) • Track record of using AI tools to increase engineering output while maintaining production security, availability, and reliability commitments (nice to have)
