Insurity serves carriers and MGAs with modular, enterprise-grade SaaS and hosted systems to streamline underwriting, policy administration, claims prevention, premium recovery, and billing operations.

📋 Description

• Manage third-party tax relationships and tax software • Oversee Avalara, including product mapping, active jurisdictions, and timely sales tax returns across multiple states • Coordinate tax registrations and license renewals with Legal and HR/Payroll • Monitor and address sales, use, property, and corporate income tax notices • Provide data for tax provision, corporate financial statement apportionment, FIRPTA and Anti-Trust compliance, and Canadian SRÉD and/or E-biz credit applications • File corporate income tax extensions, estimated payments, and annual filings • Coordinate VAT, GST, HST, and QST filings with third parties • Monitor the tax email inbox and correspondence • Partner with Billing to resolve customer inquiries and issues • Partner with Accounting on property tax returns, declarations, and payments • Coordinate tax portal logins and credentials with AP and Payroll • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliation workpapers • File specialty state returns, including franchise tax returns and Ohio CAT, as required • Complete supporting financial statement schedules • Oversee third-party tax partner projects involving notices, audits, and nexus reviews • Perform ad hoc finance projects and research • Assist the accounting team with reporting and close activities

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree is highly desirable • 2–5 years’ work experience in corporate income and sales & use tax • Intermediate Excel skills • Aptitude for identifying procedural improvements • Excellent work habits and willingness to go above and beyond, especially during financial close, audit, or tax season • Active listening • Analytical and critical thinking • Self-starter and quick learner • Detail-oriented • Ability to collaborate and work independently with limited supervision • Time and/or project management, including work planning, prioritization, organization, and multitasking • Experience with Avalara or similar sales tax software and day-to-day ownership of the software package • Experience in Intacct • Understanding of SaaS subscription-based business models • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Office 365 • Experience with foreign currency • Experience with VAT, HST/GST/QST, Canadian E-Business, and/or R&D tax credit programs is highly desirable
