• Install, maintain, calibrate, and repair computer-controlled servo-hydraulic and electro-mechanical test systems at customer sites • Diagnose issues across controllers, hydraulics, data acquisition systems, sensors, transducers, fixtures, and grips • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-system issues using hands-on diagnostic methods • Perform calibrations independently for assigned customer systems • Manage service documentation and assigned assets • Communicate professionally with customers • Work directly with customer engineering and laboratory teams • Maintain technical training and comply with MTS quality and safety standards • Travel approximately 40–50% to customer sites, primarily within Philadelphia, with occasional travel across the Northeast • Attend onboarding and training at MTS headquarters in Minnesota and regional training classes
• Hands-on technical experience through internships, co-ops, labs, maintenance roles, automation, robotics, manufacturing, or military service (typically 2–4 years combined) for early-career candidates • Associate degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, or similar, or a 4-year Engineering Technology degree for early-career candidates • OR 5–10+ years supporting electro-mechanical, hydraulic, or industrial equipment for experienced candidates • Experience in field service, installation, system startup, or maintenance for experienced candidates • Comfort working with tools, wiring, mechanical assemblies, and technical systems • Comfort troubleshooting complex systems with minimal supervision for experienced candidates • Willingness to travel regularly, especially during the first year • Willingness to follow structured training and mentorship during onboarding • Strong communication skills and professional customer interaction • Valid driver's license and ability to meet company vehicle requirements • Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently and more than 50 pounds occasionally • Ability to operate a motor vehicle as part of the remote working position • Ability to perform required physical activities, including pulling/pushing, carrying, working above shoulder level, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, squatting, kneeling, bending, and occasionally climbing • Required vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception, focus adjustment, and troubleshooting defects or abnormalities
