📋 Description

• Lead highly complex mechanical hardware designs for customer or innovation projects • Partner with system architects to review and clarify design requirements and define mechanical/thermal architecture • Lead mechanical and thermal design of advanced liquid cooling, thermal management, and heat exchanger products and components • Assemble prototypes and verify form/fit/function • Manage external component suppliers/manufacturers and contribute to product roadmaps • Communicate technical project aspects to internal and external customers • Define design innovations and potential patentable solutions • Lead resolution of complex design issues and manage design trade-offs • Develop and validate complex mechanical products across business units • Lead mechanical layouts using standard tools • Direct all aspects of mechanical design with minimal supervision • Mentor, coach, and train less-experienced engineers • Provide technical leadership across geographically dispersed teams • Lead mechanical engineering projects with multiple engineers assigned • Lead cross-functional and mechanical engineering design reviews • Work regular business hours, with some additional hours as required • Work remotely within the US or onsite in Austin, TX

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline • 8+ years’ experience in mechanical design and/or verification or other key competency • Demonstrated experience in full cycle mechanical design and releasing products into a production environment • Required experience designing liquid cooling systems, thermal management solutions, heat exchangers, and related thermal-fluid components • Strong thermal design and analysis experience, including heat transfer, fluid flow, and system-level thermal performance optimization • Experience leading complex product development programs from concept through production • Detailed knowledge and use of 3D CAD, Finite Element Analysis, tolerances, manufacturing principles, and interference checks • Knowledge of tolerance analysis, DFM, and serviceability • Strong understanding of thermal management technologies, liquid cooling architectures, and heat exchanger design principles • Knowledge of industry or sector regulatory and safety standards • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop engineering talent across remote and distributed teams • Good understanding of English • Ability to assess projects, articulate risk, and develop project milestones • Ability to develop projects in a stage-gate process (PLCQ) • Ability to travel domestically and/or globally, up to 30% • MSME/PhD, prior people management experience, and experience managing remote engineering teams are preferred or highly preferred
