📋 Description

• Source and purchase new generators, climate control units, light towers, distribution equipment, and associated rental assets • Translate fleet requirements into complete purchase specifications • Solicit and evaluate competing quotes and build side-by-side comparisons • Track production slots and factory lead times to protect deployment schedules • Negotiate pricing, volume terms, payment terms, freight, warranty coverage, and delivery commitments • Maintain relationships and national account pricing agreements with OEMs and dealer networks • Monitor the used equipment market and evaluate acquisition opportunities • Evaluate used units based on hours, service history, load bank results, condition, useful life, and reconditioning cost • Coordinate pre-purchase and third-party inspections • Represent JC Davis Power in auction bidding within authorized limits • Procure temporary power distribution equipment and maintain inventory against demand • Verify purchases meet NEC, UL, and jobsite safety requirements • Identify substitutions and alternate suppliers • Issue purchase orders, verify pricing and terms, and route documentation for approval • Coordinate funding methods, lease-versus-purchase decisions, and capital approval documentation • Manage titles, MSOs, serial numbers, VINs, and registration documentation • Arrange freight, heavy haul, and oversize permitting • Confirm receipt, condition, and specification compliance; resolve vendor discrepancies • Complete warranty registration and hand off asset records for system onboarding and PM setup • Maintain procurement records, vendor files, purchase history, and pricing benchmarks • Report capital spend, acquisition cost trends, lead times, and vendor performance • Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, approval thresholds, and regulatory requirements • Support continuous improvement in acquisition cost, lead time, and procurement workflow

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field preferred • 10+ years of purchasing or procurement experience, with direct exposure to capital equipment, fleet, or heavy equipment acquisition • Working knowledge of mobile power generation, climate control, or temporary power distribution equipment • Ability to read spec sheets, parts lists, and equipment drawings • Demonstrated ability to evaluate used equipment condition and value • Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable pricing and terms on high-dollar purchases • Proficiency within Netsuite ERP or other enterprise asset management software • Ability to manage multiple open orders, delivery dates, and competing priorities • Experience in equipment rental, oilfield services, construction equipment, or industrial equipment distribution • Familiarity with EPA emissions tiers and their impact on equipment selection and resale value • Experience with auction platforms and used equipment marketplaces • Understanding of DOT, heavy haul, and oversize load transport requirements • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and consistent follow-through
