📋 Description

• Lead design and engineering of high voltage electrical systems for hyperscale data center campuses • Develop electrical system architectures optimizing reliability, redundancy, and scalability • Design utility-scale substations, distribution systems, protection schemes, control systems, and grounding systems • Perform load flow, short circuit, arc flash, transient stability, harmonic, and protective device coordination studies • Lead utility interconnection strategy and coordination for developments requiring 100+ MW of utility capacity • Architect medium voltage distribution loops, unit substations, diverse utility feeds, and redundant power architectures • Develop campus electrical master plans and infrastructure roadmaps for phased multi-building data center campuses • Integrate solar arrays, battery energy storage, fuel cells, microgrids, and other sustainable power solutions • Design on-site generation, generator paralleling schemes, automatic transfer switch configurations, and grid-scale energy storage systems • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, engineering standards, design guidelines, and best practices • Advise hyperscale clients on infrastructure strategy, capacity planning, and capital investment decisions • Support business development through proposal development and technical presentations • Lead technical due diligence and long-term electrical infrastructure master planning • Conduct design reviews for technical accuracy, code compliance, and constructability • Provide field engineering support during high voltage construction and resolve complex field issues • Develop commissioning plans and lead transformer energization, relay testing, generator validation, and integrated system performance testing

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program • 8-12 years of progressive electrical engineering experience with substantial focus on high voltage power systems, substation design, and mission-critical facilities • Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing or ability to obtain licensure in multiple states • Deep expertise in medium voltage (4.16kV-35kV) and high voltage (69kV-230kV) electrical system design, substation engineering, and utility interconnection • Comprehensive knowledge of data center electrical infrastructure including redundant power architectures and Uptime Institute Tier Standards • Expert-level proficiency with SKM PowerTools, ETAP, and EasyPower • Demonstrated experience leading utility coordination and interconnection processes for large power users (100+ MW) • Strong technical leadership and communication skills • Preferred: Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Systems Engineering • Preferred: PE license active in multiple states • Preferred: LEED AP or sustainable design credential • Preferred: IEEE Senior Member status or active participation in professional societies • Preferred: Direct experience with hyperscale data center operators or large colocation providers • Preferred: Expertise in renewable energy integration, microgrid design, distributed energy resources, design-build/EPC delivery, campus master planning, digital substation technologies, and IEC 61850 protocols • Knowledge of medium/high voltage systems, utility-scale substations, transformers, switchgear, protective relaying, grounding, redundant data center power architectures, UPS integration, generators, battery storage, solar PV, fuel cells, and microgrids • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit MEP, arc flash and grounding analysis software, renewable energy modeling tools, SCADA platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of NEC/NFPA 70, NFPA 70E, IEEE, Uptime Institute, ANSI/NETA, utility interconnection, NERC, and OSHA standards • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
