📋 Description

• Lead a regional GI Medical Science Liaison team • Provide scientific, clinical, research, and educational support to healthcare professionals and internal partners • Partner with the MSL Head to set regional strategy, priorities, measurable objectives, and execution plans • Conduct routine strategy reviews with MSL direct reports using data, insights, AI tools, and performance trends • Coach, develop, and provide feedback to direct reports through field observation and career development planning • Execute field Medical Affairs programs, product launches, proactive initiatives, and healthcare professional engagement • Ensure direct reports demonstrate scientific expertise, presentation skills, professional credibility, stakeholder influence, adaptive communication, and scientific storytelling • Stay current on scientific information and disease states and coach the team accordingly • Ensure collection and analysis of high-quality Medical Insights to inform strategy, evidence generation, and lifecycle planning • Coordinate with Medical Affairs, Scientific Affairs, and cross-functional partners • Identify solutions and recommend actions to the MSL Head using critical thinking, risk assessment, and sound judgment • Provide oversight of activities under regulatory and healthcare compliance guidelines • Manage team performance through field visits, 1:1s, coaching, feedback, training, and development • Monitor team capacity, field activity, metrics, dashboards, and continuous improvement • Ensure MSL territory plans are strategic, current, and actionable • Manage special projects and cross-functional support activities • Recruit, retain, and develop a diverse, high-performing team • Provide career and succession planning • Complete administrative duties, expense report approvals, team metric reports, compliance documentation, and operational reporting • Communicate MSL team achievements, insights, and impact to internal partners and leadership • Participate in business planning and lead or support scientific projects, programs, and cross-functional initiatives • Develop field scientific strategies aligned with medical priorities and lifecycle needs

🎯 Requirements

• A minimum of a master’s degree is required • PharmD, PhD, MD highly preferred • Minimum of 8 years required • Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical industry experience required • Minimum of 2 years of MSL or equivalent experience required • Clinical/research experience preferred • GI/Immunology experience strongly preferred • Previous people management responsibility strongly preferred • Proficiency in data gathering and analysis, clinical expertise, problem solving, interpersonal influence, cross-functional collaboration, strategic thinking, and competitive landscape analysis • Must live in the assigned Western U.S. region and in close proximity to an airport • Regional travel of approximately 60%, including overnight travel, periodic national scientific congresses, and key strategic/scientific meetings at corporate offices in Horsham, PA/Titusville, NJ • A valid US driver’s license • Demonstrated commitment to learning emerging technologies, such as AI • Experience building team AI literacy and confidence, reinforcing trusted and responsible AI use and sound judgment
