📋 Description

• Develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive planned giving program to secure deferred gifts such as bequests, trusts, and annuities • Build, cultivate, and steward relationships with planned giving prospects, donors, and estate and financial planning professionals • Meet personally, by phone, and virtually with prospects, donors, and professional advisors to share information about the planned giving program and the American Cancer Society’s work • Grow and manage a portfolio of qualified, active prospects through identification, cultivation, solicitation, execution, and stewardship • Attain annual targets for personal visits, planned gift proposals delivered, and new planned gift commitments closed • Use Salesforce to track, qualify, and report prospect, donor, and advisor contacts and progression through moves management stages • Collaborate with philanthropy and other colleagues to expand blended gift proposals and cultivate additional planned giving prospects • Stay current on estate and gifting techniques, applicable tax laws, and charitable giving trends • Maintain knowledge of the Society’s cancer research, patient support, prevention, detection, and treatment work • Model collaborative behavior consistent with the Society’s cultural beliefs and values

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree and/or equivalent experience • 3+ years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising, or equivalent experience in nonprofit networking/relationship building • Planned Giving experience preferred • CAP or CFRE certification listed • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle • Reliable internet connection • Experience with planned giving software such as Crescendo/Salesforce preferred • Strong judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality • Impeccable organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously • Excellent oral and written communication skills • Computer proficiency • Strong customer relationship management and customer-centric solution skills • Strategic planning and ability to translate future possibilities into strategies • Ability to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with urgency and enthusiasm • Consistent results achievement under difficult circumstances • Ability to relate comfortably with diverse groups of people • Ability to build formal and informal relationship networks inside and outside the organization • Persuasive ability to gain support and commitment • Resiliency when facing setbacks and adversity • Three or more travel days a week within the designated territory
