📋 Description

• Develop and maintain corporate coding education, training policies and procedures, and coding reference materials • Lead training sessions and assess coder comprehension • Recommend coding resources and policy and procedure development • Assist coding leadership with training and performance improvement tracks for coding coworkers • Coordinate with Coding Auditors to prepare education materials based on audit results • Develop and maintain a consistent coding operations orientation program • Report coders' progress to coding leadership during orientation and training • Analyze and interpret disease and procedure classifications and terminologies as a nosologist • Apply coding guidelines to specific situations using analytical judgment • Maintain expert knowledge of coding software tools • Assist with software workflow development and maintenance • Oversee system testing for software updates and functionality changes

🎯 Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED with 5 years of Franciscan coding experience — Required, or Associate's Degree — Required • Surgery Coding Experience — Required • 5 years Franciscan outpatient coding with CCS, CCS-P, CPC — Required, or 5 years outpatient coding experience with RHIT/RHIA — Required • CCS, Certified Coding Specialist from AHIMA — Required, or CPC, Certified Professional Coder from AAPC — Required, or CCS-P, Certified Coding Specialist-Physician from AHIMA — Required • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint — Required • Bachelor's Degree — Preferred • 3 years Coding Manager or Trainer/Auditor — Preferred • RHIT or RHIA — Preferred
