📋 Description

• Research environmental components identified during project review and determine environmental concerns and required mitigation steps. • Work with federal and state agencies to obtain environmental permitting clearance for construction. • Support state and local land use and environmental permitting efforts, including conditional/special use permits and certificates of environmental compatibility. • Provide project compliance or fieldwork support. • Coordinate budgets and milestones. • Support proposal or scope-of-work development. • Coordinate survey efforts between third-party consultants and federal agencies as required. • Support telecom Section 106 activities, including researching, preparing, and submitting cultural resource reports to SHPOs, municipalities, and other governing agencies for clients in Alaska, California, and Oregon.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or related field; OR 30 credit hours in archaeology combined with relevant field experience required. • 5 to 10 years demonstrated environmental agency permitting experience. • Working knowledge of federal grant-related environmental requirements, including the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Section 106 compliance. • Experience working with federal, state, and/or local agencies on environmental permitting or cultural resource matters. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare agency correspondence, environmental and cultural resource reports, and project documentation. • Proficiency with Google Earth, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Excel, and Word. • Ability to manage multiple projects and changing requirements effectively. • Experience working with federal agencies such as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), Bureau of Land Management (BLM), U.S. Forest Service (USFS), and/or U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) preferred. • Experience supporting telecommunications, fiber optic, or other linear infrastructure projects preferred. • Experience coordinating with State Historic Preservation Offices (SHPOs), state archaeological agencies, municipalities, and other permitting authorities preferred.
