📋 Description

• Research environmental components identified during reviews to determine concerns and required mitigation steps. • Work with federal and state agencies to obtain environmental permitting clearance for construction. • Support state and local land use and environmental permitting efforts, including conditional/special use permits and certificates of environmental compatibility. • Provide project compliance or fieldwork support, budget and milestone coordination, and proposal or scope-of-work development support. • Coordinate survey efforts between third-party consultants and federal agencies as required. • Support environmental permitting and compliance reviews for broadband and telecommunications construction projects regulated by NEPA and Section 7. • Prepare and submit environmental reports and documentation to federal, state, and local agencies for clients in Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in biology, Environmental Science, Natural Sciences or related sciences; or 30 credit hours in Biology combined with relevant field experience required. • 5 to 10 years demonstrated environmental agency permitting experience. • Working knowledge of federal grant-related environmental requirements, including the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and Section 106 compliance. • Experience working with federal, state, and/or local agencies on environmental permitting or cultural resource matters. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare agency correspondence, environmental and cultural resource reports, and project documentation. • Proficiency with Google Earth, ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, Excel, and Word, with the ability to manage multiple projects and changing requirements effectively. • Preferred: Experience working with USACE, FERC, BLM, USFS, and/or USFWS. • Preferred: Experience supporting telecommunications, fiber optic, or other linear infrastructure projects. • Preferred: Experience coordinating with SHPOs, state archaeological agencies, municipalities, and other permitting authorities.
