📋 Description

• Own the AI team, technical roadmap, and engineering standards • Report to the Head of Engineering and lead the AI team • Hire, mentor, and raise the team's engineering standards • Establish evaluation, testing, observability, and delivery standards for AI work • Own delivery at startup pace while maintaining the accuracy lawyers depend on • Own the technical roadmap covering architecture, agent frameworks, retrieval, evaluation, and observability • Partner with product on technical feasibility and cost • Track developments in generative and agentic AI and turn them into roadmap decisions • Integrate AI into real product workflows with design and engineering • Improve AI capability across the business • Explain AI concepts and decisions to engineers, the CEO, and other non-specialists

🎯 Requirements

• Experience running an engineering team and improving it, with direct reports and specific examples of people who advanced under your leadership • Ability to achieve results through product managers, domain experts, and other teams without direct reporting lines • Experience leading at pace on high-performing teams with real deadlines, including knowing what to cut • At least 3 years at a company where generative or agentic AI is central to the product • Teams led have shipped agentic systems to production • Ability to understand retrieval quality, evaluation, observability, and agent design • Located within CET +/-2 • Formal background in AI or ML, experience taking a product from non-AI-native to AI-native, familiarity with LangGraph, MCP, LangSmith or Langfuse, and legal tech or other regulated-domain experience are nice to have
