Key Capture Energy is a developer, constructor, owner and operator of large-scale battery energy storage systems that integrate renewable energy onto the electric grid. Since 2016 KCE has developed, constructed and now operates a geographically diverse portfolio providing grid reliability, flexibility and efficiency; it reports over 600 MW operational and a development portfolio of over 8,000 MW, with a team grown to 85+ employees operating across 25 states and headquarters in Albany, NY. KCE focuses on utility-scale battery energy storage projects that support the transition to a cleaner, more reliable grid by storing intermittent wind and solar energy and providing services to keep the lights on when renewable generation is unavailable.

📋 Description

• Provide strategic leadership across IT, OT, cybersecurity, and software systems, advising executive leadership and aligning technology initiatives with business objectives. • Define and execute long-term technology and product strategies, including roadmaps for SCADA, data pipelines, and enterprise systems to support operational growth. • Oversee all IT and OT operations, including infrastructure, cloud platforms, telecom, and third-party systems, ensuring secure, reliable, and scalable performance. • Oversee development and execution of the company’s cybersecurity program, including policies, controls, incident response, and continuous improvement. • Oversee software engineering and product delivery, ensuring high-quality execution, effective release management, and continuous improvement across systems. • Partner cross-functionally to prioritize initiatives, resolve integration challenges, and improve delivery outcomes. • Establish governance for system selection, implementation, and lifecycle management, including vendor and consultant oversight. • Develop and manage departmental budgets and drive scalable processes to support company growth. • Lead and develop internal teams and external partners, fostering accountability, innovation, and operational excellence. • All other duties as required.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in technology, energy, or a related field with increasing leadership responsibility, including experience managing a diverse team. • Experience across IT, OT, cybersecurity, and software systems, with knowledge of SCADA systems and system integrations. • Demonstrated success in product management, technology strategy, and delivering complex, cross-functional initiatives. • Ability to scale technology and engineering operations in a high-growth environment. • Experience in battery energy storage systems (BESS) preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or related field (advanced degree preferred). • Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
