• Develop, implement, and reinforce project management methodologies and tools across multi-functional IT teams, internal stakeholders, and external vendors • Oversee strategic plans and adapt them based on institutional portfolio, program, or project needs • Review project proposals and define business cases, scope, level of effort, objectives, costs, risks, assumptions, constraints, priorities, deliverables, project plans, and timelines • Adhere to UT Health San Antonio standard operating policies and procedures, including information security vendor and RFP processes • Track project performance and schedule adherence using project management tools • Organize and lead project meetings with resources, stakeholders, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle • Document current and future technical and end-user workflows, identify gaps, and recommend institutional improvements • Assist with ancillary system configurations and validation rounds when necessary • Apply change control management techniques to project work and scope variations • Present progress updates, findings, and recommendations verbally and in writing • Document, analyze, and apply lessons learned to improve repeatable project processes • Provide support and guidance to technical, application, training, less experienced project, and vendor teams • Stay informed about Healthcare-IT and Project Management Institute trends, technologies, and best practices • Perform other duties as assigned
• Demonstrated and validated understanding of PMO processes, strategies, and methods, including waterfall and agile, in healthcare, clinical, business, and technical settings • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and other project management tools • Proficiency with data visualization tools including Excel, Power BI, and Tableau • Broad management experience and aptitude for analytical thinking and problem-solving • Ability to anticipate clinical, business, or technical challenges and proactively address obstacles • Excellent time management and organizational skills, including establishing guidelines for others • Ability to communicate under pressure, speak publicly, prepare and deliver presentations, and escalate priority issues • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific, business, or technical field, or comparable healthcare experience • Four years of comparable healthcare experience may be substituted for a degree • Minimum of five years of project management experience in a healthcare or related setting • Experience working with Epic, Cerner, McKesson, Meditech, or ancillary clinical systems • PMP certification from an accredited institution is preferred • May require the ability to maintain the security and integrity of UT San Antonio and its infrastructure per Texas EO-GA-48
