📋 Description

• Conduct qualitative data collection, including key informant interviews and focus groups in English and Spanish • Coordinate with federally funded health departments, recipients, and subrecipients to recruit respondents • Develop and implement recruitment and outreach strategies with partners • Establish and maintain connections with community partners across multiple jurisdictions • Obtain informed consent from respondents before data collection • Record focus groups and key informant interviews with permission • Maintain detailed field notes and documentation • Participate in pilot testing and cognitive testing of data collection instruments in English and Spanish • Transcribe or review transcriptions of qualitative data • Clean qualitative transcripts and quantitative survey data • Apply codebooks to qualitative data using qualitative analysis software • Assist with preliminary qualitative and quantitative data analyses • Generate descriptive statistics and frequency distributions • Create tables, figures, and graphics to communicate key findings • Contribute to summaries of preliminary findings and dissemination products

🎯 Requirements

• Must be able to obtain a Public Trust and successfully complete a background check • Must be able to obtain and maintain federal facility access as needed • Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement • Must possess either a Master of Science degree with 8 years of experience or a Bachelor of Science degree with 10 years of experience in public health, social sciences, psychology, sociology, or related disciplines • Minimum of 3 years of related experience conducting qualitative data collection, including interviews and focus groups • Experience working with sensitive populations and/or public health research • Demonstrated experience with data management and qualitative data analysis • Fluency in both English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking • Ability to conduct professional interviews and facilitate focus groups in both languages • Cultural competency in working with Spanish-speaking populations • Proficiency with qualitative data analysis software such as NVivo, Atlas.ti, MAXQDA, or Dedoose • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint • Demonstrated experience with qualitative data analysis software such as SPSS, SAS, Stata, or R preferred • Experience with overdose prevention, substance use disorder, or harm reduction programs preferred • Knowledge of federal public health programs and evaluation methodologies preferred • Experience working with federal cooperative agreements preferred • Familiarity with emergency medical services, navigation services, or community-based prevention programs preferred • Experience with human subjects’ research and IRB protocols preferred • Certification in qualitative research methods preferred • Excellent data management, organizational, interpersonal, communication, attention-to-detail, and time-management skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
