📋 Description

• Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients ordering testing performed at Labcorp’s Westborough, MA and San Francisco, CA laboratories • Review defined molecular test requisitions and incoming samples for clarity of physician orders • Support the molecular lab by monitoring worklists and adding and canceling tests • Generate paperwork for sendout tests and monitor tracking lists • Respond to telephone and email inquiries from Labcorp clients, healthcare providers, laboratories, and branches to coordinate genetic testing • Contact clients to obtain pertinent demographic and clinical information and ensure appropriate testing is ordered • Research, troubleshoot, and resolve testing problems by contacting clients or other Labcorp facilities • Learn multiple laboratory-based computer applications

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a Biological Science • Familiarity with genetics concepts • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite • Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively • Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly • Strong project management skills • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems, and make recommendations • Preferred: 1 or more years’ experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant • Preferred: 1 or more years’ customer service experience • Preferred: 1 or more years’ experience working in a clinical genetics testing laboratory with next generation sequencing • Preferred: 1 or more years’ experience with Labcorp’s Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) • Work Monday–Friday, 9:30–6:00 Eastern Time, with rotating Saturdays (approximately 1 Saturday per month)
