📋 Description

• Work with the lab Genetic Counselor team to support clients that order testing performed at Invitae • Respond to telephone and email inquiries from Invitae/Labcorp clients, health care providers, and patients; 75% of the time is spent on the phone • Review orders for clinical appropriateness and perform outreach as necessary • Contact clients to obtain pertinent clinical information and communicate with clients throughout the testing process • Participate in or take leadership of particular operations and development projects as required

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelors degree in a biological life science • Familiarity with genetic concepts • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite • Strong multi-tasking ability with excellent attention to detail • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond effectively • Strong flexibility and the ability to manage and adapt to changing priorities quickly • Excellent project management skills • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others and work cooperatively and effectively to set goals, resolve problems and make recommendations • Preferred: 1 or more years experience working as a Genetic Counselor Assistant • Preferred: 1 or more years experience working in a clinical genetics testing laboratory with next-generation sequencing • Preferred: 1 or more years customer service experience • Preferred: 1 or more years experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) • Ability to work Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Eastern Time
