📋 Description

• Handle on-demand telephone interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Bambara and English speakers • Interpret across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and 911 • Process information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences • Use appropriate terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices • Respond promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner • Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions • Remain calm during difficult or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and protocol while avoiding unauthorized interaction with the limited-English-speaking person • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment • Provide company-standard service during emotional, stressful, extended, or high-volume calls

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Bambara and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred • Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or acceptable tablet/smartphone • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, company software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs • May be required to complete a post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen
