📋 Description

• Handle on-demand Bengali-English video and telephone interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Bengali and English speakers • Provide interpretation across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, business, law enforcement, court, and 911 contexts • Respond promptly to interpreting sessions in a friendly and professional manner • Participate in online, video, and audio training sessions • Deliver audio and video interpretation services and type data on a dedicated device • Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions • Maintain professional demeanor throughout interpreting sessions • Remain calm during difficult, sensitive, or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocol • Understand terminology and procedures across multiple industries • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment • Work from a quiet and secure home office

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Bengali and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages — highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes: Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, Android, iOS, or equivalent • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload • Quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary before a computer and webcam for most of the workday • Must use a headset for prolonged periods • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Able to lift up to 26 lbs • Post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location • Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred
