📋 Description

• Handle on-demand video and audio interpreting sessions between Marshallese and English speakers • Render the meaning of conversations accurately and according to established interpretation protocol • Serve clients across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and 911 • Respond promptly to video and audio sessions in a friendly and professional manner • Participate in online, video, and audio training sessions • Deliver interpretation via video and type data on a dedicated device • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions • Maintain professionalism, neutrality, and cultural sensitivity during sessions • Remain calm during sensitive, emotional, stressful, or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocols • Apply terminology and procedures for medical, insurance, finance, law, and other industries • Provide service during extended calls and periods of high call volume

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Marshallese and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to concentrate, remain detached, neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Must be able to adapt to LanguageLine Solutions technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • US work authorization must not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages — highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, Android, iOS, or compatible device • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary before a computer and webcam for most of the workday • Must use a headset for prolonged periods • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Able to lift up to 26 lbs • May be required to complete a post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen based on location
