📋 Description

• Respond to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly • Interpret conversations between Pashto and English speakers across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911 contexts • Deliver interpretation services via video and type data on a dedicated device • Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions • Maintain a professional demeanor during video and audio sessions • Remain calm during incoherent, upset, emotional, stressful, or emergency calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocol • Understand and apply terminology and procedures across multiple industries • Participate in online, video, and audio training sessions

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Pashto and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Ability to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages — highly preferred • Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or acceptable tablet/smartphone • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate keyboard and mouse and remain stationary in front of a computer and webcam for most of the workday • Ability to use a headset for prolonged periods • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Able to lift up to 26 lbs. • May be subject to a post-offer, pre-employment background check and/or drug screen
