📋 Description

• Handle on-demand video and audio interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Portuguese and English speakers • Provide interpretation services across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, courts, and 911 • Process information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences • Use appropriate terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices • Participate in online, video, and audio training sessions • Deliver interpretation via video and type data on a dedicated device • Render accurate concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol • Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation, and polite expressions • Maintain a professional demeanor during interpreting sessions • Remain calm during difficult or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocol • Understand terminology and protocols for medical, insurance, finance, and law industries • Work sensitively and effectively in a diverse environment • Work from a quiet and secure home-office environment

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Portuguese and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred • Must be able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS, or acceptable tablet/smartphone • Must not use restricted Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary before a computer and webcam most of the workday • Ability to use a headset for prolonged periods • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Able to lift up to 26 lbs • May be exposed to moderate noise levels • Post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
