📋 Description

• Handle on-demand telephone interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Seraiki and English speakers • Interpret across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, general business, law enforcement, court, and 911 contexts • Respond promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and enunciation • Maintain a professional demeanor throughout sessions • Remain calm during emotional, stressful, incoherent, or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during work hours • Follow client instructions and interpretation protocols • Use appropriate terminology and understand industry procedures • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity and work effectively in a diverse environment • Work from a quiet, secure home office • Remain on calls for extended periods and manage potentially high call volumes

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Seraiki and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to remain neutral and objective during sensitive conversations • Education or work experience in language-related fields preferred • Ability to adapt to LanguageLine Solutions technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Desktop/laptop with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS; tablets and smartphones with iPadOS, Android, or iOS are acceptable • No Kaspersky products or Huawei hardware • High-speed internet: minimum 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard, mouse, company software, and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Ability to lift up to 26 lbs. • Must be able to remain stationary in front of a computer for most of the workday • May be required to complete a post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen based on location
