📋 Description

• Handle on-demand video and audio interpreting sessions • Render the meaning of conversations between Tigrigna and English speakers • Serve clients across healthcare, government, insurance, finance, utilities, travel and hospitality, business, law enforcement, courts, and 911 • Process information quickly and concisely while recognizing sensitive cultural differences • Use appropriate terminology and understand common industry procedures and practices • Participate in online, video, and audio training sessions • Deliver interpretation via video and type data on a dedicated device • Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocols • Speak clearly in both languages with proper pronunciation and polite expressions • Maintain a professional demeanor during interpreting sessions • Remain calm during difficult or emergency calls, including 911 calls • Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours • Follow client instructions and protocols • Understand terminology and protocols for medical, insurance, finance, and law industries • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in a diverse environment • Work from a quiet and secure home office

🎯 Requirements

• Fluency in Tigrigna and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics • Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences • Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills • Ability to concentrate, remain neutral and objective, and handle sensitive subjects • Must be able to adapt to LLS technology enhancements • Must be at least 18 years of age • Legally authorized to work in the United States • US work authorization must not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to read and write the requested languages – highly preferred • Dedicated personal device for business purposes • Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS desktop/laptop, or compatible tablet/smartphone • High-speed internet with at least 5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload, ping no more than 300 ms, and jitter no more than 30 ms • Access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction • Ability to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain stationary before a computer and webcam for most of the workday • Must use a headset for prolonged periods • Ability to operate company-provided software and systems • Sufficient manual dexterity to type or write • Able to lift up to 26 lbs • Post-offer pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required based on location
