📋 Description

• Own architecture for headless Shopify storefronts from discovery through launch and production support • Determine whether projects should use headless Shopify or a well-built Online Store 2.0 theme • Build custom and public apps on the Admin GraphQL API • Develop high-volume data-sync jobs for catalogues, orders, and inventory • Design scalable metafield and metaobject data models • Integrate ERP, OMS, PIM, and payment systems • Ensure synchronization reliability through retries, idempotency, and reconciliation • Measure and improve Core Web Vitals and storefront performance • Conduct technical discovery with clients, including requirements, solution proposals, estimates, and architecture presentations • Establish engineering standards through code review, branching strategy, and mentoring mid-level developers • Participate in recruiter, technical, and architecture/stakeholder interview rounds

🎯 Requirements

• 7–14 years minimum of experience at lead/architect level • At least the last three years centered on Shopify • Production Shopify Hydrogen storefront experience, including Storefront API and live deployment on Oxygen, Vercel, or Cloudflare Workers • Current hands-on React JS experience, including component architecture, hooks, state management, data-loading patterns, and performance work • TypeScript expected • Remix routing and loaders are a strong plus • Deep Liquid experience with Online Store 2.0 architecture, including sections, blocks, JSON templates, metafields, and metaobjects • Hands-on experience building on Dawn or Horizon themes • Experience building custom or public Shopify apps using the Admin GraphQL API • Experience with App Bridge, Polaris, OAuth or managed install, HMAC-verified and idempotent webhooks, cost-based rate limiting, and bulk operations • Experience integrating a headless CMS such as Contentful, Sanity, Contentstack, Strapi, or equivalent • Content modelling and schema design experience • Experience creating editorial workflows usable by non-technical content teams • Experience owning architecture decisions and defending them • Client-facing experience and ability to explain technical work clearly • Strong pluses include Shopify Plus, Shopify Functions, Checkout UI Extensions, B2B/Markets, Oxygen, Shopify CLI, Remix, Node.js, GraphQL, CI/CD, Matrixify, WCAG 2.1 AA, Magento or WooCommerce migrations, and a published App Store app
