📋 Description

• Provide power systems technical support for wind, solar, and battery storage projects • Determine injection and/or charging capacity for proposed projects • Conduct transmission system analyses to identify optimal interconnection points and hosting capacity across the U.S. grid • Account for interconnection costs, reliability, and congestion • Prepare interconnection application packages, including dynamic models • Review and validate interconnection study results • Advise project developers on risks arising from the generator interconnection process • Support LGIA, PPA, and financing efforts • Coordinate with EPC throughout project construction • Track developments in transmission planning processes and advise on risks and opportunities • Maintain a database of dynamic project models through development and construction • Coordinate model transition with Asset Management and NERC Compliance teams at commercial operation • Coordinate with developers, Transmission Team members, project engineering experts, EPC, NERC Compliance, and Asset Management

🎯 Requirements

• BSEE in power systems from an accredited university • 4 years of experience in electrical power systems engineering, transmission planning and/or transmission system operations • Experience performing static and dynamic transmission system studies for substation and transmission line planning and/or operation • Experience with PSS/E, PSLF, and/or TARA • Knowledge of power plant design, including main power transformers, collector systems, power plant controllers, and inverter-based generating equipment • Familiarity with NERC reliability standards and FERC open access policies • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time may be required • Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain • MSEE in power systems from an accredited university preferred • Direct experience in wind, solar, or battery storage project system design, construction, and operation preferred • Experience with interconnection agreements, power purchase contracts, electric power system regulatory compliance, and energy market structures preferred • Experience or familiarity with LMP-based market simulations using PROBE, PROMOD, or PLEXOS preferred • Experience or familiarity with PSCAD preferred • Utility-scale generation interconnection experience preferred • Currently authorized to work in the United States • The company does not sponsor applicants for work visas
