📋 Description

• Install, configure, administer, manage, and document MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB clusters across multiple nodes • Use HAProxy for load balancing, failover, and high availability across environments • Troubleshoot PL/SQL, stored procedures, and Oracle database packages • Analyze, solve, and correct database issues in real time • Advise Division management on integration of IT programs • Lead database performance monitoring and system health architecture activities • Establish database architecture standards and high-availability and disaster-recovery strategies • Optimize relational and non-relational data stores and clusters • Manage database asset inventories and related documentation • Provide expert DBA services for production, staging, and development databases • Perform physical database design with senior developers and data modelers • Support automated and ad-hoc reporting, ETL processes, and data pipelines • Provide technical expertise, mentorship, and cross-training • Analyze user experience and recommend changes to improve user experience and query performance • Maintain database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards

🎯 Requirements

• Technical Training, Certification(s) or Degree • 3+ years of related experience • Experience working in Linux environments • Strong command-line experience including Unix shell scripting, PowerShell, and AWS CLI for cloud storage management • Experience administering SQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Oracle • Experience administering NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB • Experience configuring and managing HAProxy/Keepalived for database load balancing, connection pooling, and automated failover routing • Experience managing automated database backups, repositories such as pgBackRest, and backup retention strategies using AWS S3 object storage • Ability to perform complex command-line scripts and SQL queries • Ability to thrive without a managed database service • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards • Ability to prioritize and complete varied workloads with critical deadlines • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills • Superior communication skills and professional demeanor • Ability to communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Ability to manage equipment and services in remote locations • Ability to work effectively in a remote team environment • Ability to perform well under pressure • Strong customer service orientation • Organized workflow and high attention to detail • Must be able to obtain EPA Public Trust Level 4 • US citizenship required per contract
