📋 Description

• Provide pre-sales technical support for complex products, applications, and solutions • Provide technical expertise to sales staff and customers through sales presentations and product demonstrations • Grow technical relationships with customers • Assess potential applications of company products to meet customer needs • Prepare product specifications and design and implementation specifications • Build mini applications, rapid prototypes, and product demos to demonstrate feasibility • Consult with prospective users and assess and validate product capabilities • Negotiate technical specifications and performance trade-offs with customers • Participate in customer design reviews and contribute to technical responses to RFIs/RFQs • Collect customer requirements and application use cases • Bring up transceiver modules at customer sites, troubleshoot prototypes, and develop solutions supporting end-user applications and product design-ins • Develop and manage customer product documentation, including corrective actions, analysis reports, manufacturing test plans, performance improvement plans, reliability qualification plans, and reports • Manage the Product Change Notification process with customers and engineering • Participate in Failure Analysis, Corrective Action, and Lessons Learned activities • Work with Product Line Management, Sales, R&D, Product Development, and key customers • Report to the Senior Director of Sales

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in the physical sciences, electrical engineering or equivalent • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience designing/developing or testing coherent optical modules and components, preferably active products, and specifically DSPs, receivers, modulators and lasers • Direct experience in product development and NPI processes with either an optical components/modules company or a system OEM • Practical working knowledge of transceiver hardware including both specification and test of firmware/hardware interfaces • Ability to travel domestically and internationally • Familiarity with device firmware structure and functionality is a strong positive • Familiarity with standards documents like CMIS, C-CMIS, Ethernet, and Infiniband • Familiarity with popular switch/router platforms and ONTs including Arista, Cisco, and Nvidia • Familiarity with Python • Ability to speak and understand English is required; written skills emphasized • Motivated, hands-on, can-do attitude and ability to create innovative solutions under pressure
