📋 Description

• Provide clinically appropriate outpatient mental health and co-occurring substance use disorder services • Primarily provide individual psychotherapy • Evaluate, diagnose and treat mental health and substance use disorders under the Mental Health Director’s supervision • Provide crisis intervention and brief behavioral interventions • Complete psychosocial assessments for gender-affirming surgery and write timely letters of support • Facilitate group psychotherapy and one group per week • Make appropriate internal and external referrals and provide clinical case management • De-escalate clients experiencing mental health emergencies or high emotional distress • Assist clients with accessing benefits and support services • Attend weekly mental health team meetings, weekly one-on-one supervision and monthly Collaborative Care meetings • Meet visit-number and quality benchmarks, including 3 scheduled visits per half day • Complete surgery support letters within 1 month after assessment • Respond to inbox messages and close visit notes within 72 hours • Participate in continuous quality improvement and other assigned duties

🎯 Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited school of social work, marriage & family therapy, licensed professional clinical counseling program with a master’s degree, or a school of psychology with a PsyD. or PhD. • Associate Therapists: California license as an ASW, AMFT or RPA • Licensed Therapists: California license as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC or Psychologist • Experience and commitment to LGBTQIA+ community health care, including trans, gender non-conforming, non-binary and intersex communities • Experience working with populations with varying disabilities, racial, ethnic and cultural backgrounds and economic statuses • Experience working with people who do sex work, people experiencing homelessness, people with mental illness and/or using drugs, people with a history of incarceration, and people of varying ages • Interest in and commitment to gender-affirming health care and health care access for underserved populations • Cultural sensitivity and humility; ability to work with a diverse population • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Word, Outlook, internet applications, Zoom, computer technology and phone use • Preferred: bilingual Spanish/English fluency; other bilingual or multilingual fluency • Preferred: EMDR, DBT or CBT training • May be required to work some evenings
