📋 Description

• Investigate inherited Scala systems, distinguish symptoms from root causes, and improve scalability • Redesign the data layer supporting ML and AI products • Build a Rust framework for correct, performant services • Improve platform observability and resilience to identify problems proactively • Shape developer tooling and engineering standards • Drive AI tool adoption across the company • Work across the JVM (Java/Scala), Rust, Python, SQL, and Spark stack

🎯 Requirements

• Staff-level individual contributor role with technical influence and no people management • Systems thinking and ability to reason about whole systems • Ability to read large, unfamiliar codebases and determine required changes • Empathy for downstream users, including developers and operators • Thorough testing discipline • Comfort with ambiguity • Proficiency in the JVM ecosystem (Java, Scala) • Experience with Rust highly desired • Python • SQL and data processing (Spark or similar) • Distributed systems design • Observability and resilience engineering
