📋 Description

• Manage timberland assets in New Hampshire, focusing on northern hardwood forests and additionally spruce, fir, and mixed cover types • Collaborate closely with the Area Manager while supporting the same client portfolio of natural asset investments • Develop service-oriented relationships with MIMT and MIMFM personnel and maintain client fiduciary obligations • Follow stewardship practices for water quality, soils, invasive species, and SFI/FSC certification compliance • Oversee and implement safety procedures for personnel, contractors, and property assets • Assist with area operations management, including planning, budgeting, GIS updates, and quarterly property reports • Administer harvesting operations, including harvest planning, field inspection, timber cruising, timber merchandising, scheduling, bid analysis, contracting, and security inspections • Assist in marketing wood products and exploring new market opportunities • Assist with road building and maintenance oversight • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and conservation easements • Assist with annual operating plans and year-end stakeholder reporting • Attend conservation easement stakeholder meetings • Assist with recreational trail use agreements • Manage harvest volumes and silvicultural prescriptions while maintaining conservation easement and carbon project compliance • Support resolution of trespass, encroachment, illegal activities, and environmental issues • Utilize and oversee consultants for field tasks • Seek non-timber income opportunities and assist with cabin license program oversight • Assist with wood flow and wood delivery agreement fulfillment • Report operational status, markets, stewardship, risks, safety, budgets, and casualty losses • Assist with planning and leading property tours

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in forestry or equivalent experience as required • Minimum 1 year career experience • Organizational and team supervision experience desirable • Proficient in Northern Hardwood, Spruce, Fir and mixed cover type forest management • Knowledge and experience with management cost and return expectations • Knowledge and experience with discounted cash flow analysis • Knowledge and experience with harvest administration • Knowledge and experience with timber marketing • Proficient in leadership principles and a team-oriented work environment • Knowledge of forest stewardship concepts • Knowledge of safety concepts for timberland operations • Knowledge of employee, client, community, and industry relations, communications, and employee safety • Proficient with timberland accounting, inventory/GIS systems, and general forestry operations
