📋 Description

• Evaluate applications of the highest financial impact and complexity • Analyze decisions without compromising overall underwriting policies • Work independently and guide junior colleagues • Identify and provide solutions to work-related problems • Negotiate and manage time and resources to meet deadlines and service times • Provide training and act as an information resource for junior underwriters • Process all aspects of auditing and formal appeal reviews • Maintain good relationships within a self-directed team environment • Manage all aspects of underwriting process for complex cases • Serve as a subject matter expert for junior colleagues and management

🎯 Requirements

• College graduate or business equivalent • Preferably 7 or more years of underwriting experience or exposure • Strong knowledge of underwriting function • Sound knowledge of John Hancock's various businesses • Strong knowledge of referral areas • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills • Strong analytical skills • Ability to define, research, and resolve problems • Strong ability to create and maintain customer relationships • Ability to prioritize and work effectively under deadlines • Strong knowledge of company plans, riders, benefits, and illustrations • Strong knowledge of medical science, technology, and terminology
