📋 Description

• Provides operational leadership and strategic support in partnership with the Chief Medical Officer to advance PSLP priorities, strengthen leadership communication, and support relationships with academic medical center clinical and administrative leaders. • Accountable for department-wide PSLP operations, priorities, and results, using independent judgment on complex business, clinical, and subscriber-related matters. • Oversees the development and implementation of PSLP policies, practices, and standards to support program consistency, compliance, and alignment with MCIC expectations. • Supports the Chief Medical Officer in PSLP Committee work by ensuring effective governance, relevant content, appropriate expert engagement, and follow-through on strategic priorities. • Serves as an external-facing MCIC leader and trusted thought partner to subscribers, aligning programs, services, and funding with patient safety priorities. • Translates enterprise priorities into PSLP initiatives and measurable outcomes that strengthen subscriber value and organizational impact. • Works with MCIC’s Data Analytics team and subscribers to support the development of metrics and benchmarks, interpretation of harm, claims, and risk data, and translation of findings into actionable improvement opportunities. • Monitors healthcare trends, technologies, and regulatory developments affecting patient safety, quality improvement, and MCIC’s business, and supports subscribers in applying emerging insights within their organizations. • Applies expertise to advance evidence-based clinical risk reduction and patient safety initiatives, shared learning models, and emerging technology-enabled approaches that proactively identify risk, reduce harm, and assist in improving subscriber outcomes across academic medical centers. • Sponsors core practices maturity frameworks, evidence-based change packages, and shared learning structures that help subscribers strengthen patient safety practices. • Builds and sustains shared learning networks, affinity groups, collaboratives, and hospital participation models that accelerate adoption of effective patient safety practices across subscriber organizations. • Oversees medico-legal education, patient safety learning sessions, and other educational offerings based on subscriber needs, risk trends, and quality improvement priorities. • Provides day-to-day operational leadership for the PSLP department, including workflow oversight, communication of priorities, staff development, and all aspects of performance management. • Oversees PSLP individual employee goal setting to ensure strong accountability and alignment with departmental and enterprise priorities. • Coordinates PSLP operational support for interdepartmental functions and cross-functional initiatives with Claims, Insurance Operations, Information Technology, and other internal partners.

🎯 Requirements

• Graduate degree required; advanced degree in healthcare, healthcare administration, or a related field preferred. • Undergraduate degree in a related healthcare discipline required. • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare administration, risk management, loss prevention, patient safety, performance improvement, or a related field. • Administrative leadership experience in an academic hospital or academic medical center environment required, including experience working extensively with clinical staff and physician leadership. • Experience working for or consulting with large integrated healthcare delivery systems and leading loss prevention, patient safety, risk reduction, or performance improvement initiatives. • Demonstrated experience in project management, budget oversight, data analysis, and the development, coordination, and monitoring of complex clinical or operational initiatives. • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare data and data analytics, including the ability to interpret harm, claims, and risk-related data and translate findings into meaningful insights and recommendations for subscribers. • Demonstrated ability to use AI and AI-enabled tools to streamline personal and team workflows, improve efficiency, support decision-making, and enhance execution of departmental priorities. • Certification in patient safety, healthcare risk management, or healthcare quality preferred.
