📋 Description

• Design, install, configure, maintain, and support PostgreSQL and Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises and Azure environments • Monitor database health and performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement tuning and optimization solutions • Develop, maintain, and validate backup and disaster recovery processes • Administer database security, including user access, permissions, auditing, and regulatory compliance • Implement and support high-availability solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, replication, and failover capabilities • Troubleshoot database issues involving performance, connectivity, availability, corruption, and application integrations • Partner with development teams to optimize schemas, stored procedures, queries, and database design • Maintain database architecture documentation, operational procedures, and system standards • Perform capacity planning and forecasting • Participate in the on-call rotation for critical database systems and production incidents

🎯 Requirements

• Degree or equivalent and typically 7+ years of relevant, progressive database administration experience supporting production database environments • Strong expertise administering PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server in enterprise environments • Experience with database installation, configuration, performance tuning, security administration, backup and recovery, and high availability solutions • Proficiency with PL/pgSQL and/or T-SQL, including query tuning and optimization • Experience troubleshooting complex database issues and implementing effective long-term solutions • Experience supporting databases hosted in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure • Experience using automation and scripting technologies such as PowerShell or Python • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills • Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with cross-functional technical teams • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a fulltime basis without employer support or sponsorship now or in the future
